Kofi Kingston def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler by Count-out
Going into the bout, Kofi Kingston knew that if Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler were disqualified, he would become the new champion. Despite the stipulation, Kingston’s efforts to regain the prestigious title were once again cleverly thwarted by the duo of Ziggler and Official SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero. As the battle waged outside of the ring, the ref began a 10-count. Knowing Ziggler would still retain his title even after a count-out loss,Vickie stopped Ziggler from reentering the ring. Although Kingston won, he was furious the title eluded him once again and chased Ziggler from ringside, out into the WWE Universe and up a flight of arena stairs.

Ryan Nemeth. Brother to Dolph Ziggler, author, future WWE World Heavyweight Champion? Dolph Ziggler’s brother sat down with DolphZiggler.Com (or maybe he was standing up, we don’t know) and answered 16 questions about his book, his family and even dishes some dirt about Dolph! You don’t want to miss reading his book and you definitely don’t want to miss this interview. There are all kinds of shenanigans these guys got up to; including, but not limited to, Q-Tips stuck in an ear, someone inside a turned on dryer and leg eating swimming pools.

DolphZiggler.Com: Where did you get the idea for the book? Would you say it’s a memoir?

Ryan Nemeth: No, it is not a memoir. It is fiction. I used to write short humor pieces for my college’s newspaper, The Xavier Newswire. I would scribble out phony love notes or come up with phony text message conversations– I even had a weekly phony advice column called “Mr. Bargain”– and they would print them. One of the text-message pieces I did involved a conversation between two friends, one of whom wasn’t extremely up to date on human biology. It went something like this:

STEVE: hey mike ur dad’s a doctor right?
MIKE: yeah why
STEVE: can u get a girl pregnant if u only “do it” once?
MIKE: uh, yes. definitely.
STEVE: are you sure? can you please just ask your dad?

So I would do these short little jokey pieces and I liked them because they were different: the format was unique (texts, hand-written notes and letters, etc), and because my sense of humor is kind of weird. But they were always things I knew that my friends and my family members would think is funny, which is usually the only thing that matters to me when it comes to comedy. Our family has an odd sense of humor. Haha, in retrospect, it seems like that’s the worst way to go about it, only trying to make my friends and brothers laugh, but I guess it ended up working!

So this little text message piece got printed, and I began to think, “What if I kept going with this…what if this character kept a journal or something…what’s the rest of his life like, what are his friends like…is there a story here?” And, as it turns out, there was a story there. I kept writing short little pieces for this new character, who became Donny Blake, the college student. Eventually I began to see where I could go with it, plot-wise, so I came up with an outline (which changed a million times over the course of writing the story) and just kept going with it. It grew from this tiny little semi-funny joke piece for the school paper and just got bigger and bigger and bigger, and now I’m answering questions on DolphZiggler.com about it. Weird!

Kofi Kingston def. Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler by Disqualification

After The Nexus crashed their Intercontinental Championship Match at SummerSlam, reigning champion Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston picked up where they left off in their battle for the prestigious title. On this night, it was Official SmackDown Consultant Vickie Guerrero who interrupted things when she pushed Kingston from the top rope. Although her actions caused an immediate disqualification for her boyfriend, the title cannot change hands on a disqualification. After the bell, Ziggler went to work by dropping Kingston with the Zig Zag, then locking him a sleeper and finally stomping on his defenseless body.

Special thanks to Carol and Jordan for sending along exclusive photos of Dolph Ziggler’s red carpet rendezvous! Ziggler enjoyed the glaring lights from the flashing cameras, as he took part in WWE’s SummerSlam Kick off party, promoting tonight’s pay per view, walking their red carpet. It’s always great to see Mr. Ziggles dressed up to the nine, a welcoming change from the ring shorts and fierce vest, wouldn’t you agree? No! Fine… Have it your way. It’s just too bad he hadn’t brought the bling of the Intercontinental Championship with him. So what do you think? A step up from last year’s red carpet look, or does he fall short as a fashion victim? Either way, enjoy the photos – we sure are!
